VERDICT

Overall, the difficulty level of slot 1 of CMAT 2024 was comparable to that of CMAT 2023 (morning slot).

As is usually the case with CMAT, time was not a limiting factor. Some questions in all five sections were straightforward, while questions in the General Awareness and Innovation and Entrepreneurship sections were more challenging and could significantly affect the overall percentile. Based on feedback from IMS candidates and experts, the expected cut-offs for CMAT 2024 are as follows:

SECTIONAL ANALYSIS

Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation:

This section was relatively easy. Out of 20 questions, 3 were on Data Interpretation and 17 on Quantitative Techniques. Data Interpretation questions involved simple calculations, while Quantitative Techniques were largely focused on Arithmetic.

Out of 20 questions, 11 were on Non-Verbal Reasoning and 9 on Verbal Reasoning. The questions were straightforward and easy to solve.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship:

Out of 20 questions, 16 were on Business and Entrepreneurship concepts, and 4 on Business GK. This section had a medium difficulty level.

11 to 12 attempts in this section with 80% accuracy would be considered good.
