CMAT Exam Analysis – Section-wise Breakdown

Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation:

This section was relatively easy. Out of the 20 questions, 3 were on Data Interpretation, based on tables and pie charts, and the remaining 17 were on Quantitative Techniques. Most Data Interpretation questions involved simple calculations.

Our CMAT exam analysis revealed that the Quantitative Techniques section was dominated by Arithmetic. Of the 17 Quantitative Techniques questions, 7 were on Arithmetic, covering Percentages, Ratio-Proportion, Profit and Loss, Time and Work, Mixtures, and Algebra. Additionally, there were 4 questions on Geometry, 3 on Modern Math, 2 on Numbers, and 1 on Algebra. Most of these questions were easy.

Logical Reasoning:

According to our CMAT 2024 analysis of the second slot, this section included 20 questions: 14 on Non-Verbal Reasoning and 6 on Verbal Reasoning. All questions were standalone, with no set-based questions.

Non-Verbal Reasoning questions covered various topics such as Directions, Series Completion, Counting the number of squares, Arrangements, Family Trees, Coding, etc. Verbal Reasoning questions included Syllogisms, strong/weak arguments, assertion-reason, analogy, odd one out, etc. The questions were straightforward and easy to solve.

This section consisted of 2 Reading Comprehension questions and 18 Non-RC questions. Most questions were easy to answer.

General Awareness:

Our CMAT exam analysis indicated that the General Awareness section was comparatively harder. Out of 20 questions, 18 were based on Static GK, and 2 were on Current Affairs. Most questions focused on Indian events, covering sports, the constitution, history, books and authors, physics, geography, etc. Overall, this section had a medium difficulty level.

10 to 11 attempts in this section with 80% accuracy would be a good attempt.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship:

Out of 20 questions, 15 were based on Business and Entrepreneurship concepts (Nascent Entrepreneur, phases of funding, reasons for failure, etc.), and 5 were on Business GK. This section had a medium difficulty level.

10 to 11 attempts in this section with 80% accuracy would be a good attempt.
